TransAkron is a visual storytelling campaign designed by H.L. Comeriato and photographer Shane Wynn for the Akron Community Foundation's Gay Community Endowment Fund.
The project combines portraiture, interview-based material, and data driven narratives in an effort to highlight the lived realities of trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people living in and around Akron, Ohio.
The project is part of a larger narrative concerning gender, queerness, race, class, culture, ability and personal identity. It functions both as a visual narrative, and an interactive, online educational resource.
This print version of TransAkron was written and designed by H.L. Comeriato for limited distribution at the Gay Community Endowment Fund's 2018 Annual Meeting.
