H.L. Comeriato is an award-winning journalist living and working in Cleveland, Ohio. They currently cover all things LGBTQ+ Ohio for The Buckeye Flame – Ohio's LGBTQ+ newsroom.

Previously, they covered public health in Summit County as a 2020-2021 Report for American corps member. Their work also includes reported stories on housing, health care, environmental health, education, government, politics, public health, policy and legislation and arts, culture and entertainment. Their stories are accurate, informative and rooted in fact-based journalism.

They are the recipient of the National LGBTQ+ Journalism Association (NLGJA)'s 2024 Sarah Pettit Memorial Award for LGBTQ+ Journalist of the Year.
